Nimo Jirdeh – is a renowned Governance and Public Sector Specialist in the Horn of Africa, celebrated for her extensive community field experience, donor
engagement, and technical expertise. She is recognized for her exceptional ability to convene large groups and harness diverse skills. With over fifteen years
of work experience in development, Nimo has proven track record in policy development, political economy analysis (PEA), public financial management (PFM), peacebuilding, and conflict-sensitive program management (CSPM). Recognized for spearheading innovative local governance initiatives, driving inclusive state-building efforts and navigating complex political landscapes. Nimo has extensive experience in advising and fostering strategic partnerships and driving policy dialogue at national and international levels. Prior to joining Acacia Dialogue Center as Co-founder and Director, Nimo served for eight years as the Governance and Policy Advisor for Horn of Africa at the Embassy of Switzerland. She wrote several articles including Empowering Local Governance: A blueprint for sustainable development in Somalia, World Bank’s report on Humility on a journey of State-building: How can state-building in FCV countries be more sustainable, Remittances and Development in Kenya, Debt-relief as an entry point to promote effective IFI-UN collaboration. Nimo is currently a PhD candidate in the Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations with United States International University – Africa.
